Our Client is seeking an Application Architect to directly join  their team. The Application Architect will provide leadership and technical expertise while providing solutions in the areas of system integration, application design, interoperability, and compatibility across multiple platforms.  Operating as a single contributor or as part of a team (on large complex projects with multiple Architects), interprets and translates client requirements into a solution which aligns with the overarching Enterprise Architecture. The Application Architect will  communicate directly with the Product Owners on various project deliverables, collaboratively operate across Business areas and Technical areas to architect solutions that represent both Business capabilities and the technical architecture roadmap.  Build consensus to support the execution of such solutions and clearly articulate the business and technical benefits.  Contribute to the definition of architectural policies, standards and procedures for the enterprise.
  • Design software solutions that meet business needs and follow software development best practices and standards
  • Communicate design with stakeholders and ensure that solutions follow agreed upon Enterprise Architecture standards
  • Assist Client' s  Enterprise Architecture team in refining existing standards
  • Participate in the Architecture Council as an adjunct member contributing to the overall software architecture
  • Promote and build effective working relationships with Business and IT partners, support staff, and vendors
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation cycles on various projects, conduct design, code, and QA walkthroughs and reviews
  • Stay abreast of the ever-changing technology industry to ensure developed solutions are following both internal and industry “ best practices” and that solutions will meet the needs of the business going forward
  • Work as a technical liaison between various technical teams in the IT organization
  • Ten or more years of professional Information Technology experience with seven or more years of software development and engineering experience including analysis, design, development, application deployment, support, and optimization for enterprise systems and technologies
  • Five or more years architecting and designing complex enterprise applications
  • Expert and proven analysis, judgment, decision making, organizational, and planning skills working in an autonomous and proactive manner, and a desire to continuously learn new skills
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical business colleagues
  • Passion and demonstrated ability for continuous process improvement
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Expertise with full software development life cycle including writing functional & technical specifications, design documentation, QA processes, source control, maintenance, and deployment procedures.
  • Ability to incorporate relevant technical concepts/best practices and components into an enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, the ability to work in a diverse, dynamic, and fast paced environment, the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, the flexibility to multi-task, the aptitude to work well with the IT team

Technical Qualifications
  • Bachelors or higher-level degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline strongly preferred
  • Experience developing tools, frameworks, and processes intended to maximize software quality and minimize time-to-delivery
  • Ability to mentor and guide developers on software architecture
  • Knowledge of architecture design patterns
  • Good understanding of SOA and experience building RESTful Web Services
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Experience with Middleware solutions (i.e. Oracle SOA)
  • Strong experience working directly with customers and ability to brainstorm concepts
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, critical thinker
  • Specific experience in the intermodal or transportation industries is a plus
  • Expertise with full software development life cycle (Waterfall and/or Agile) including writing functional and technical specifications, design documentation, QA processes, source control, maintenance, and deployment procedures
  • Experience with more than one of the following technologies:

Required: 

    • At least 5-7 years of experience working as a Solution or Application Architect in Microsoft Technology Stack (not Java)

    • Experience with AngularJS (2-3 years) 

    • Entity Framework

    • C# (4-5 years)

    • .NET (4-5 years)

    • Web API (3-4 years)

    • REST

    • JSON

    • JavaScript

    • Agile SCRUM methodology

Preferred:
    • Implementing or working with various design patterns 
    • Security Models
    • Node.js

    • Oracle
    • SOA Middleware tool
