Hours  for this role are 6: 45AM ET to 6: 45PM.  Three day work week with every 3rd Saturday as a workday to make up the hours for the month.

A Health Insurance company  is presently looking for an IT Operations / Command Center Specialist to work onsite.   The selected candidate will be accountable for providing operational support for distributed, midrange, and mainframe environments supporting all lines of business


Communicates with multiple vendors and ensures that appropriate recovery procedures are followed for hardware failures.  They will also proactively monitors alerts related to infrastructure and batch environment, and assist in developing technical standards.

The Operations Command Center provides seven by twenty-four by three hundred and sixty five day coverage; this position is for one of the two night teams supporting the environment. Standard work weeks consist of twelve hour shifts comprised of two 36-hour, three day weeks followed by one 48-hour, four day week.

The Operations Technician monitors and evaluates the performance of the Operations Command Center systems.  In this role you will leverage your knowledge of IT Operations to assist in maintaining and monitoring meaningful events that are instrumental in preventing business impacting incidents.    This role requires leadership skills, organizational ability, adaptability, sound judgment, and strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for providing operational support for distributed, midrange, and mainframe environments supporting all lines of business
  • Communicates with multiple vendors and ensures that appropriate recovery procedures are followed for hardware failures
  • Proactively monitors alerts related to infrastructure and batch environment
  • Assist in developing technical standards

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’ s Degree or higher strongly preferred in technology or equivalent work experience
  • Customer focus
  • Ability to facilitate calls with multiple remote support teams
  • Communication skills: oral and written
  • Ability to translate technical problem into business terms
  • Interest in learning new technologies 
  • Technical proficiency in multiple areas of:  desktop computing, distributed systems, networking, midrange, mainframe, web technology, databases, and batch cycle
  • Adaptability to new processes and expectations
  • Commitment to improvement of Service Quality
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Candidate will be a fully competent professional. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately difficult assignments.  This role requires leadership skills, organizational ability, adaptability, sound judgment, and strong analytical ability.  Has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.

Education

Bachelor' s Degree or equivalent. Requires 3-5 years professional experience.
