Infrastructure and Application Monitoring Specialist

Our client is looking for an Infrastructure and Application Monitoring Specialist role open where the ideal candidate will have experience in CA Spectrum.

Duties:
  • Provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Infrastructure assignments/projects.
  • Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.
  • Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders.
  • Focuses on providing thought leadership within Infrastructure Engineering but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business.
  • Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

Skills:
  • Experience with network management and systems management tools, such as CA Spectrum, Moogsoft, BMC, Netcool
  • Install, upgrade, and support multi-tiered management software products on Linux, Unix, and/or Windows platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems and Linux commands is required
  • Build or write scripts to manage monitoring of systems and dashboards
  • Strong knowledge of SNMP is required- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networks and client/server connectivity required, especially with regard to performance
  • Experience with shell scripting- Experience administering Apache Tomcat a plus- Experience with network management and systems management tools, such as CA Spectrum, Moogsoft, BMC, Netcool
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues in conjunction with application, infrastructure, and vendor groups.
  • Document installations, changes, and configurations

Education:
  • Bachelor' s Degree or higher strongly preferred in technology field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience in implementing and configuring monitoring tools with a focus on automation and scripting knowledge
  • Experience with a diverse range of monitoring suites and tools with specialization in at least one
  • Knowledge of Availability, Capacity, Service Level and Event Management concepts
  • Deep experience with troubleshooting monitoring tools
  • Level II and III support for all monitoring tools
