Operations Technician – Lead Analyst

Our client is looking for an Operations Technician Lead Analyst who has experience with Python, HTML and some Splunk.   

This position is for one of the two night teams supporting the environment. Their standard work weeks consist of twelve hour shifts comprised of two 36-hour, three day weeks followed by one 48-hour, four day week. The schedule switches every 4 months. Initial schedule will be Sun-Tues.

Duties include:

The Operations Command Center provides 24x7x365 coverage; this position is for one of the two night teams supporting the environment. Standard work weeks consist of twelve hour shifts comprised of two 36-hour, three day weeks followed by one 48-hour, four day week.

The Operations Technician monitors and evaluates the performance of the Operations Command Center systems. In this role you will leverage your knowledge of IT Operations to assist in maintaining and monitoring meaningful events that are instrumental in preventing business impacting incidents. This role requires leadership skills, excellent communication skills, organizational agility, adaptability, sound judgment, and strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities

Accountable for providing operational support for distributed, midrange, and mainframe environments supporting all lines of business Communicates with multiple vendors and ensures that appropriate recovery procedures are followed for hardware failures Proactively monitors alerts related to infrastructure and batch environment Assist in developing technical standards Assist in optimizing alerts for Splunk Dashboards and providing recommendations for automation opportunities Facilitating managed incident event recoveries

Skills:

Technical proficiency in 1 of the following or similar (to show knowledge of development with a view to doing some automation): desktop computing, distributed systems, networking, midrange, mainframe, web technology, databases, Splunk, Python Scripting, HTML Scripting, and batch cycle manipulations using CA ESP.

Customer focus

Ability to facilitate calls with multiple remote support teams. Excellent communication skills: oral and written Ability to translate technical problem into business terms Interest in learning new technologies Adaptability to new processes and expectations Commitment to improvement of Service Quality Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Education: Bachelor' s Degree preferred or higher strongly preferred in technology or equivalent work experience Skills and Experience:
